“Would be dead anyway”. When a new lion male joins a female for mating, if the female has any cubs, the male lion will kill them all and start fresh. The companies that sell lions, will usually only take lion cubs that are about to be killed by the adult male lion. Instead of them being killed, they are sold as domestic pets.

According to the WWF (World Wildlife Fund), there are roughly 3,200 Tigers left in the wild, while there is roughly 15,000 wildcats under the care of a person in the USA alone!
