VIDEO: India Launches Mission To Mars

After much preparation and planning, India has successfully launched its first ever spacecraft heading directly to the Red Planet. If successful, they will be the fourth space agency ever to of achieved the mission of reaching mars.

The mission to reach mars began at 01:08pm Dubai time with the lift off of the spacecraft from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre on the Indian East Coast.

The spacecraft is expected to reach Mars in 300 days times.

If the spacecraft does reach Mars, India will be fourth in line to achieve this after the US, Russia and Europe.

The 56-hour countdown to launch began on Sunday and by the time you read this the spacecraft will be more than a thousand miles away in space.
